Abby Lenz
THERAPIST, MA, LPC
Licensed in both Texas and Oklahoma, Abby’s primary goal is to help everyone believe that even in darkness we can see light. She believes in empowered healing, forward growth, and a loving respect for the roads we walk in this life. Our stories matter, and it is Abby’s wish that when writing our stories together, we find light and peace.
Abby obtained her Master’s of Arts in Counseling from B.H. Carroll Theological Seminary, upon which she began working in private practice. During her time in private practice and her work history in the funeral profession, she gained experience working with a range of individuals and families suffering from grief, trauma effects, child development impacts, and family structure trauma. Her mission is to help individuals develop the tools to step out of darkness and into hope, confidence, and healing.
Abby primarily focuses on working with teens and adults in the following areas:
- Depression & Anxiety
- Trauma Disorders
- Grief and Loss
- Adjustment Disorder
- Young Adults and College Concerns
- Life Transition Struggles
- Emotional and Spiritual Burnout
- Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In addition to her time at Hope Connects Counseling, Abby serves on the music and college ministry teams within her church, contracts with The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center, and volunteers with local community Chamber of Commerce activities.
She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and currently sings The Spirit of Aggieland as a lullaby to her two boys. When not in the counseling room, you can find Abby attending her women’s quilting group, reading a good book, or spending quality time with her family. Please note that all HCC therapists are contractors, therefore they set and determine their own schedules, specializations, and hours. HCC will help communication between clients and therapists, but scheduling is at the discretion of each individual therapist.
